Christmas trees, gift tags, tees

Here is the rest of my yuletide crafting for this year.

Because I felt conflicted about buying either an artificial or real tree, a cardboard Christmas tree:

SONY DSCWe also had this one up. I made a wall hanging from some tree-print canvas fabric sold by IKEA (I bought it off of Ebay because it’s not for sale this year). It’s a full 6 feet tall. At my dad’s recommendation, I sewed a string of Christmas lights right to the fabric, making it surprisingly life-like.

SONY DSCGift tags made out of wool felt:

SONY DSCBirds added to store-bought tees for V and E, fabric from a pair of pants worn threadbare by both:

SONY DSCAshley got a cashmere beanie made out of an old sweater, not pictured here.

It didn’t feel like I’d done much aside from the advent calendar, but in the end all the little things added up. For me, I’ve just started a new sweater. After ripping out the almost complete Antrorse sweater a second time, I’ve started the Camilla Pullover, using the same yarn:

Fingers crossed that I’ll like it more!

Happy New Year!

Sewing the lights on the wall hanging worked well – very festive!
    Pretty cool name tags.
