Sorbetto with Sprinkles

Pattern: Sorbetto by Colette Patterns (free download!)
Fabric: 1.5 yards Dear Stella, Sprinkles in Multi
Time to Complete: One week – approx. 1 hour cutting, 2 or so hours sewing, plus time to make bias tape
Favorite parts: The precision of the reverse pleat.

Here’s a simple tank for me, which I finished last night.. Just right for this 110 degree weather. I’m a bit behind the times with this pattern, as it was all over the Internet this time last year, but here I finally am.

As you can see, I inverted the pleat from the original and left it loose at the hem. I also lengthened it 1.5 inches, and it could use a full inch more.

The pain with pdf patterns is the printing out and piecing together of the pattern (this alliteration just happened, I swear). Now that I have the pattern all in order, this will be a very quick sew.

I love this fabric. It’s very soft and drapes impressively well for a quilting cotton. I have several yards left – to be used on a dress for Violet and possibly quilt parts for the quilt in the works for her big girl bed.

Very cute – looks cool for summer days with a touch of elegance. It could certainly be worn for a night out on the town.
